Virgo, the Maiden of the Zodiac, is a constellation that brings about practicality, diligence, abundance, wealth and stability. Her talismans are aimed at the simple and practical, and so I ensured that the construction of these her children were simple, effective and practical.

Initially, I intended these to be small metal charms, elected at various points of Virgo's transits, but that quickly changed, and on the Feast of Mary's Nativity, these new charms began to be born. Each was set with the Third Pentacle of Mercury, which is said to command the spirits of Mercury. As Virgo is ruled by Mercury, they are her spirits as well. A series of herbal materia was filled into them, including Fennel, Lavender and Cinnamon, as well as a mixture of three dirts that grant access to all roads of power. Materia from Spica's Vessel was placed in each as well. Spica is the brightest star in the Virgo constellation, and served as the Mother to the growing charms.

Each material was prayed over, given instruction, and given over to the authorizing spirits. Within each, magic was woven for authority over the spirits of Mercury and Virgo, multiplying what is drawn in by them, increasing focus and productivity, and the gathering of knowledge.

Abundant Harvest is the overall theme of the charms, what is harvested is determined by whoever takes them in. Love, money, health, peace, success, knowledge, whatever the heart desires. These charms, however, will naturally thwart purely self-serving motives, and the harvest must be shared with others. Spica is a communal star, and her light radiates in the cores of each of these little birds.

These charms hold power and sway over all Mercurial and Virgonian powers, and thus can be employed to any aims contained under those heads. They are mercantile, pulling on Mercury and Spica's merchant aspects, and can aid in business. Eloquence and favor follow them, both with incarnated people, and spirits. 

Each starling was set in Spica's vessel to incubate for the first night. Before dawn the next day, dew was sprinkled upon them, as each was presented to the rising Sun in Virgo. At sunset, that very same Sun was captured in water, which was then transformed into bread.

Once the star rose again, it was set under Demeter, and each starling was consecrated to her, granted greater agency, and received an increased fertility of power. Further invocation was made to Gaia, to draw the stars down to Earth, grounding these bags so that their heavenly powers manifest in physical reality. Each then fed on smoke and the Star Bread, before being placed back into the vessel of their Mother Spica.

Final, more private, consecrations were done to various midwife spirits to help bring them into the world, as fire was given, igniting their souls. Each received a name, which you will also receive after purchasing them, as well as more personalized instructions.

Dawn of the final day, they were pulled out of the Mother Vessel and given birth in this world, washed in the dew of new birth and presented once more to the Sun at his rising, to receive their final empowerment, being thoroughly ensouled and born, from the heavens into the earth.

During the process of their creation, I already began to feel their effects and wakening powers, which have now reached full maturity. The birds are ready to leave the nest, to find homes of their own.
